Elisabete Figueiredo, coordinator of the Rural Matters project, has participated on the RTP2 (Portuguese national public television) programme ‘Sociedade Civil’ last October 25th, under the subject ‘Living in the Rural World’. Rural Matters was referred during the show.

The sociologist Elisabete Figueiredo, professor and researcher at the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences of the University of Aveiro is the new president of the Portuguese Society for Rural Studies (SPER) and the first woman to ever be in that position.
